Generating data fixtures for your database isn't most people's idea of fun. It's definitely not mine.
Sometimes you can't help it. You have no alternative but to create some specific set of data for a specific reason as the circumstances dictate.
But for every other situation, I would recommend saving yourself the headache of manually inventing data for your entities, and instead, allowing Francois Zaninotto's (fzaninotto) Faker library to take care of the problem for you.
And using this library inside a Symfony application is super simple, thanks to the delightful Bazinga Faker Bundle by Will Durand.
Honestly, populating your database with lorum ipsum text and made up names has never been so quick and easy.
